The IRC has been active in Thailand since 1975, providing aid to displaced persons in Tak, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, and Mae Hong Son provinces.
The IRC Thailand project, operational in Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat provinces, is designed to boost disaster readiness and mitigate violence at the community level in Thailand's deep south. This initiative emphasizes capacity building and enhancing collaboration between local authorities and community members to better address local protection needs. The project also seeks to strengthen regional cooperation and influence climate change policies through the active participation of local stakeholders, particularly women and individuals facing intersectional vulnerabilities. Ultimately, the aim is to advance climate adaptation and action through improved, locally-driven efforts.
Job Overview/Summary:
The Senior Protection Project Officer, home based in Pattani, Yala or Narathiwat Province with extensive travel to other field sites and under the supervision of the Senior Protection Manager, will play a key role in program support, community liaison, and partnership management to ensure the program team receives timely and qualified support.
Major Responsibilities:
Program Implementation
Assist the Senior Protection Project Manager and partner organizations in coordinating with community groups for activity preparation.Provide translation and interpretation support from Thai to Malay Pattani for any activities or program events.Support the Senior Protection Project Manager in preparing program reports and other program documentation.Program Support
Assist the protection program staff in Pattani’s office with day-to-day administrative requirements, such as preparing purchase requests and supporting the procurement of program supplies and materials.Update the project procurement plan, track the lead time and deliverables of equipment and materials, manage financial advances, and handle vehicle and travel arrangements for IRC staff visiting Pattani.Act as the focal point for the program team in liaising with the operations team on all administrative matters related to the program.Provide administrative support during program workshops, meetings, and training sessions, including distributing schedules, preparing venues, and arranging necessary supplies and equipment.Partnership Support
Provide administrative support to the Senior Protection Project Manager and partnership team to conduct technical and compliance monitoring for IRC’s subgrant of the deep south project.Assist the IRC partnership team in reviewing financial supporting documents of partner organizations, with close supervision from the partnership team.Key Working Relationships:

Job Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in logistics, business administration, accounting, or a relevant field.
Work Experience: Minimum of two years in a development organization.
Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:
Proficient in documentation management and coordination with various stakeholders.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to prioritize tasks, work under pressure, and meet competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Responsive to urgent requests and willing to travel frequently to field locations.Problem-solving skills and an understanding of working in a multicultural environment.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and online communication platforms such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams.Language Skills:
Excellent oral and written communication skills in Thai, good command of English, and/or proficiency in Pattani Malay is beneficial.
