Raytheon is seeking a Senior Engineer to join the Electronic Products Development Department in McKinney, TX. The selected candidate will effectively communicate technical knowledge regarding design and manufacturability of printed wiring boards (PWBs) and circuit card assemblies (CCAs).

This position is an onsite role in McKinney, Texas.

What You Will Do

Support the Product Development Engineering team through the application of tools to predict manufacturability performance prior to the program commitment of the design

Generate PWB/CCA standard notes, PreCAD data package creation, request mentor parts library elements (symbols and cells), support generation of alternative design solutions to meet or exceed manufacturability and affordability goals

Perform related technology selection and trade off analysis, performing producibility assessments, interface with other design stakeholders and suppliers

Working with programs as Subject Matter Experts in PWB/CCAs with product transitions from supplier to supplier and process support as needed

Work in multiple discipline integrated product development team environments to successfully execute tasks and deliver high quality work products

Multi-tasking to support several programs concurrently and will require travel

Qualifications You Must Have

Typically requires a Bachelors degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations

Minimum five (5) years of Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) or Printed Wiring Board (PWB) manufacturing engineering experience

Experience with automated DFM (Design for Manufacturing) tool suite

Experience with IPC design and end product performance standards

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer

Familiarity with design and producibility tools for printed wiring board and circuit card assembly technologies (Mentor xDM, PCAT, POLAR SPEEDSTACK, VALOR NPI, etc.)

Manufacturing Design Rules and Guidelines (MDRGs)

Prior experience designing manufacturing in support of aerospace/defense related products

Expertise in component selection for military and aerospace environments

IPC CID or CID+ certification

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
