Senior QA Engineer, Enterprise Applications

Location: Vilnius, Lithuania (hybrid)

Johnson Matthey IT (JM IT) is Johnson Matthey’s global IT function responsible for ensuring that our IT capabilities are not only able to support and integrate technologies but can also offer insight into future IT tools that could provide us with a competitive edge and improved operating efficiencies.  A new role within Johnson Matthey’s IT Engineering team, the successful candidate will report to the QA Manager, and work alongside colleagues in Delivery and Engineering. You will be an essential member of the team working closely to devise appropriate Test strategies with Delivery and Engineering teams and working on a range of difference types of projects and methodologies. You will work with the team you will help verify the requirements and acceptance criteria, whilst understanding the overall solution to develop End to End Tests to ensure the solution is thoroughly tested.
As Senior QA Engineer, you will develop non-functional tests where needed to ensuring deliverables are resilient and performant. You will also Develop automated testing in accordance with overall proactive Quality Engineering strategy of shifting-left and implement continuous testing techniques. You will provide structured feedback on issues found so they are easily replicated and resolved by the team and be an advocate to Johnson Matthey’s software quality standards and policies. Your responsibilities:

Technical capability 
 

• Ensure the delivery of high-quality software products that meet or exceed customer expectations within the Enterprise configuration and application development domains. 

• Lead the quality assurance efforts for projects, ensuring comprehensive test coverage and adherence to quality standards. 

• Drive best technology and software testing practices with passion and enthusiasm. 

• Participate in planning sessions to get a thorough understanding of the proposed change and define test objectives and criteria. 

• Execute manual and automated tests, including functional, regression, performance, and security testing. 

• Identify, document, and track defects, and work with development teams to resolve issues promptly. 

• Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation of test plans, test cases, and test results for auditability. 
 

Strategic Leadership & Partnership 
 

• Develop and implement effective test strategies, plans, and cases to ensure thorough testing of software products and systems.

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of quality assurance activities in the software development lifecycle. 

•  Communicate test results, quality metrics, and issues to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner. 

•  Drive continuous improvement initiatives in quality assurance processes, tools, and methodologies. 

•  Mentor and guide junior QA engineers, providing technical expertise and support. 

Requirements for the role:

• At least 3-4 years of Senior QA / Testing experience in challenging environments. 

• Experience of automated Off-The-Shelf testing tools or frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress). 

•  Ability to work with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and tools (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab). 

•  Experience of testing software across multiple channels (Mobile, Web, SAAS etc). 

•  Experience of testing integrated front end solutions with APIs (e.g. restful\JSON, SOAP\XML) and working with opensource API tools such as Postman, Swagger.

•  Experience in an Agile/Scrum and Waterfall development environments. 

How you will be rewarded:

Salary range for this role starting from 40,500 to 61,000 EUR per annum (gross) depending on various factors, such as candidate’s qualifications, skills, and competencies. This role is also eligible to receive discretionary annual bonus that align with individual and company performance.
