\nWhat You’ll Do:
\n\nCollaborate with the Principal QA Engineer to define and apply advanced test engineering principles for sustainable, high-value test automation.\nShape the strategic direction of our automation toolset and testing processes.\nWork with developers, QA engineers, architects, and Product Owners to optimize software design for automation.\nMentor and coach team members in adopting automation practices.\nReview requirements to ensure robust test coverage for hardware and software.\nDevelop and execute manual and automated test cases for new features and bug fixes.\nMaintain and enhance automation frameworks to minimize manual testing, increase efficiency, and improve product quality.\nPartner with development teams to design automation-ready features.\nManage and report manual and automated test execution outcomes.\nUse Agile methodologies to optimize workflows and drive quality outcomes.\nCommunicate with technical and operational audiences across various channels.\nMaintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors and field engineers.\n\nDegree in a related engineering field (or equivalent). \nAt least 6+ years’ experience in automating software and hardware tests.\nAt least 3+ years’ experience in exclusively manual software testing. \nStrong programming and analytical skills.\nProficient in Typescript (or JavaScript, but with a more OOP-focused language (java, C#) experience as well) is essential.\nExperience with Cypress is a considerable advantage.\nProficient in manual system testing, with a focus on UI/browser testing.\nFamiliar with DB (SQL) and API testing.\nFamiliar with bench and field-based GPS & mobile communications testing. \nExperience in test automation for mobile applications would be a bonus.\nExcellent interpersonal communication skills (written and oral). \nAbility to work to a schedule and confidence to highlight any potential problem areas.\nPrevious leadership position(s) is an advantage.\nFamiliarity with JIRA, Bitbucket and TestRail.\nA history working within Scrum teams following Agile methodology.\nIndustry certifications such as CQI/IRCA, ISTQB, CSQA etc. \nPersonal vehicle and license for the occasional test drive are mandatory. \n\n
