The pandemic has highlighted how important telecoms networks are to society.  Nokia’s Network Infrastructure group is at the heart of a revolution to bring more and faster network capacity to people worldwide through our ambition, innovation, and technical expertise.

Our Fixed Networks (FN) business group provides an array of “gigabit to the home” solutions to deliver data access to our communication service provider (CSP) customers. This includes Fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) as well as 5G fixed wireless access (FWA), xDSL and cable upgrades in an SDN enabled Access Network (SDAN) ecosystem. We build solutions that don’t stop at the home but also bring that gigabit experience into the home using our meshed Wi-Fi solution.

Your skills and experience:

Bachelors in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, other relevant degree, or comparable work experienceBroad interest in the Telecom sector and conceptual knowledge of networks and considerable experience in Software Development.Working experience of at least 5+ years in  Test Driven Design (TDD / ATDD) and experience with automated test tools.Experience with containers and Kubernetes  and major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)Familiarity with NetConf, YANG models, and REST APIs.Proficient with the Linux command line (using SSH, running shell scripts, installing packages, using tools like top and iostat, etc.)Very strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsCI/CD (continuous integration/delivery),  Release automation (Jenkins, etc), system administration, system configuration, and system debugging experience.Ability to manage customer escalations caused by outage or product defects. Fluent English (written and spoken)Ability to work independently and follow guidelinesExcellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders

Desired any of the below:

Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) or similar  certicifationExperience with Selenium and Robot FrameworkExperience in using monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Elasticsearch.

The R&D Engineer conducts target-oriented research to directly apply findings to the specification, design, further development, and gets involved to incremental improvement and implementation of products, services, systems, tools, processes, etc. Integrates, verifies, tests, and modifies SW components and capitalizes on innovative solutions to meet particular requirements and specifications.
