As a QA Inspector, you will be a member of a dedicated team focused on continual improvement efforts for processes associated with biotech industry manufacturing and delivery of products for animal healthcare. You will perform visual, mechanical and function inspection, analysis and/or testing for conformance with established specifications. Completes documentation, paperwork and data entry to support inspection procedures. Ideally, we are looking for someone with 2-4 years of experience in metrology in a regulated environment with an associate degree in a science. Equivalent trade, military, or relevant technical training may be considered in lieu of formal degree. ASQ (American Society of Quality) Calibration Technician Certification (or equivalent) may also be considered in lieu of formal degree.
What you can expect in this role
You will read, interpret and carry out detailed instructions in written, oral or diagram form.
You will operate complex measurement instruments and determine proper measurement methods when developing/performing inspections to specifications.
MicroVu, MicoHite, Keyence precise measurement and the use machines and techniques experience preferred.
You will read and understand mechanical drawings and specifications on a wide variety of materials and parts.
You will read and comprehend correspondence, memos and SOPs.
You will write correspondence and complete inspection documentation and filing.
You will present information effectively in one-on-one and small group situations.
You will be able to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
You will interpret and use industry standard sampling plans such as ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 preferred
To provide technical input and evaluations for calibrations of instrumentation.
Research the operating specifications of new equipment, obtain suitable standards, and establish the calibration acceptance criteria.
Write required standard operating procedures, standard certification methods, and other instructions in compliance with FDA, USP, NIST or other applicable guidelines for equipment.
What you will need to succeed
2-4 years of Metrology experience preferred
Bachelors’ degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Problem solving skills; deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Basic math skills and ability to work with units of measure, whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Good PC skills, preferably MS Office.
Problem solving for complex and integrated processes and systems.
