We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Data Quality Engineer in our Enterprise Data Office (EDO) to support data quality for our Merchandising and Supply Chain Data team. This position will be based out of Mississauga, Dartmouth, or Stellarton, depending on the successful candidate's location. It will be 12 months contract opportunity.

In this exciting role, you will help design and build solutions for our data governance and data quality initiatives. You will identify, design and implement the internal processes to support data-driven decision making across the organization.
As a team player You will work closely with the data architects, your business unit internal clients, and product teams. As a Senior Data Quality Engineer with Sobeys, you will have:
Ability to create and maintain optimal data quality & governance solutions. Skills to assess business requests and provide response and direction quickly. Knowledge to support cross-functional team members. Both big-picture strategic and in-the-trenches tactical approach to data management.

Bachelor’s Degree in Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics or a related discipline. Minimum of 5 years experience as a Data Engineer or Software Engineer professional. Coding skills and deep proficiency with SQL. Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferably), strong knowledge of data modeling, data architecture, and data structures. Experience with Snowflake platform an asset. Competent with general scripting/software development an asset. Experience with reporting tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau) an asset. Excellent listening, communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills.
