Job Description
Avery Dennison is currently hiring a Senior Quality Engineer to join our PTC plant located in Peachtree City, GA. In this role, you will be focused on leading site Quality improvements through analysis of root cause issues and implementation of controls. This position requires the ability to drive improvement across multiple functional areas, by partnering with Operations, Support Team, and Leadership. Strong strategic planning skills, analytical skills, and project management skills are necessary to ensure the appropriate balance of quality, compliance, and business needs.
Primary responsibilities and essential functions:
+ Drive site quality through analysis, identification of root cause issues, partnering with Production and Engineering to complete resolutions and impact site quality
+ Ability to plan and complete Process Capability Studies, Process Maps, Process Failure Modes, Effective Analysis and implement Control Plans.
+ Handle customer complaints and customer communication from receipt to closure
+ Coordinate quality matters related to customer quality such as product complaint, customer claim (credit note), 8D report evaluation and submission, follow-up to assess the effectiveness of corrective actions and preventive actions.
+ Own Management of Change (MOC) Process
+ Review and contribute to Complaint Handling, Corrective Action Preventive Action (CAPA) processes as well as Implementation of Quality Systems.
+ Provide internal production quality support related to issue resolution, product quality/risk assessment and product disposition.
+ Provide plant quality support and representation in new product development, spec reviews and approvals, scale up, design transfer, and facility validation activities.
+ Ability to work across functional boundaries and interface with these business disciplines in a significant manner - laboratory, manufacturing, engineering, sales, and marketing functions as needed to carry out assignments.
+ Provides production support of a quality/statistical data analysis nature.
+ Provide monthly quality indices and lead monthly Quality meetings.
+ Prepare and submit monthly quality reports to keep track of all meaningful quality indexes and quality improvement activities for all outsourced suppliers.
+ Develop necessary quality standards (procedures) and requirements for suppliers.
+ Lead and commit to zero quality incidents for outsourced suppliers.
+ Generate and provide quality metrics for management review.
+ Plan and lead MSA study for all measurement and attribute inspection.
+ Contribute to New Product Development.
+ Other duties as deemed necessary.
Quality Systems:
+ Ability to complete Process Maps, Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, and implement Control Plans
+ Owns or contributes to quality documents for analysis of trends
+ Provides training and quality support to the production areas as requested
+ Conducts quality audits for products, processes, and if required suppliers
+ Leads problem solving and continuous improvement projects
+ Develop systemic improvements to the plant quality system
+ Provide guidance into the development and maintenance of the Site Quality Management System (QIS)
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field.
+ 5 or more years experience in Quality or similar fields.
+ Experience leading project teams.
+ Strong statistical background and technical aptitude.
+ Ability to complete Measurement System Evaluations (MSE = Gage R&R)
+ Experience handling multiple responsibilities with minimal direction.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills; strong presentation skills.
+ Able to effectively work with various functions and levels within the organization.
Preferred:
+ Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015
+ Six Sigma Training or certification
+ Good statistical background with Minitab knowledge
