Senior Quality Engineer

Position Summary
The primary activities include evaluating activities related to the analysis, measuring and monitoring of a product’s performance and manufacturing processes for the purpose of improving the quality of the product and the production process while identifying and reducing nonconformities, evaluating materials held for disposition, ensuring disposition is carried out, supporting special projects and delegate and organize the work load of the calibration and HFD processes between the mechanical Inspectors and to provide the necessary support to the Quality management system. Posted position does not allow for sponsorship or relocation support.

Essential Responsibilities

Develop Process Analysis; Cpk, Gauge R&R, Measurement Systems Analysis Develop Test and Acceptance Criteria  Support and Participate in the ISO Process to Maintain and Insure Accreditation  Facilitate and support the development of Procedures and Work Instructions Conduct statistical analysis for approval of new components Participate on New and Current Supplier Evaluation Collaborate Determining Training Requirements for Product and Processes  Specify and create Requisitions for Materials, Test Equipment, Calibration and Test Services Create Budgetary AFE’s and Capital Projects  Provide Training on Root Causes Methodologies and Tools  Develop Process Maps and Workflows   Implement Corrective Actions and Root Cause Analysis  Monitor and analyze quality performance and implement controls and process improvement projects Support and participate in the implementation of new technologies and special projects  Facilitate and support the development Job Hazard Analysis Maintain and Generate Quality Graphs and Reports Determine disposition and subsequent action for items received out of tolerance  Support and Facilitate Quality Internal Audits Maintain and Manage HFD Data Base  Investigate Discrepant Supplier Items and Determine Appropriate Course of Action Notify and Communicate with Purchasing, Production and Engineering on Discrepant Supplier Items Manage HFD Locations in CAL Lab Area Ensure Equipment and Tool Calibrations are Carried Out  Maintain and Manage Calibration Records in Data Base Evaluate Materials Held for Disposition and ensure  disposition is carried out Organize the work load of the calibration and HFD processes between the mechanical Inspectors Interface between Management, Manufacturing, Production, Shop Supervisors and Shop Personnel  Involve Interaction with Test Labs,  Material and Equipment Suppliers Develop Departments Project Plans and Individual Goals Identify Equipment Needs for the Quality Assurance Department    Identify and Implement Training and Cross Training Requirements for Department Trouble Shoot and Root Cause Analysis of Manufacturing Discrepancies

Skills and Requirements

BS Degree in Engineering, Quality or Industrial preferred Quality assurance experience in Quality Management systems Experience with monitoring and controls of a calibration system  Available to Answer Technical Questions from Management, Engineers, Operators and Assemblers Ability to Interact on a Regular Basis with Management and Shop Personnel Ability to Requisition and Order Materials and Services Electronically Ability to Analyze Problems, Determine Root Cause and Take Effective Corrective Action Implement the Necessary Quality and Statistical Tools that Provide Process Monitoring and Improvement

 

Working & Environmental Conditions

The employee typically performs duties in a normal office environment. There will be some work in a shop environment and exposure to the elements of our shop. 

Additionally there may be some work performed in the field with exposure to construction sites or active customer facilities.
