We are looking for a Staff Engineer I - RAN Virtualization & EMS OSS Senior Systems engineer in a lead technical role to join our Wireless network team. You will be a key contributor as a subject matter expert in a multi-functional team of R&D, Systems engineering, and product validation to introduce Samsung products to Wireless Carrier. The position will be a key contributor for the 3GPP LTE and 5G RAN and Network Management products. The candidate will be responsible for the System architecture & design, emphasizing Network Element OAM and OSS integration. The candidate will provide technical guidance to the team to ensure deliverables are met.
Responsible for the development of product requirements, feature requirements, systems, and performance analysis. Work with the team to conduct deep-dive customer sessions, new technology introduction of 4G/5G RAN Network Management features and introduction of virtualized networks (VNF/CNF-based solutions)Responsible for analyzing customer requirements, converting them into system requirements, and capturing detailed designs for the development team.Responsible for Technical Management of new products and SW releases to ensure that promised features are delivered with expected performanceProvide technical support in the pre-sales process and create compelling technical and commercial solutions in order to help achieve the assigned sales goals and business objectives.Responsible for the development of product requirements, feature requirements, systems andTranslates and communicates complex technical design considerations between the Samsung sales team and carriers’ network business Works closely with various support organizations, logistics, and cross-functional teams from SEA and Samsung HQ to achieve successful new product roll-outs and developments.Ability to travel sporadically during the projectSuccess Criteria:

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in EE/CS in engineering with 15+ years of directly related experience is required. A Masters with 12+ years’ experience is preferredMust: Experience with OAMP/FCAPS subsystem design and development in wireless networksMust: Experience with TNM protocols and NMS/OSS interfaces.Must: Exposure to High Availability and redundancy systemsMust have a detailed understanding of managing OpenStack/Kubernetes environmentsMust have experience with virtualized solutions in Wireless Networks. Virtualized RAN Application Management / OAM design and development is highly beneficial.Must have experience in working with R&D teams, finalizing feature roadmaps, and presenting in technical deep-dive sessions to customerGood to have an understanding of Netconf protocol, YANG models, REST APIs, and VES (Virtual Event Streaming)Experience or understanding in managing OpenStack / Kubernetes environment is highly beneficial.Experience in authoring the SW upgrade procedures and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for high-severity issues in the commercial network is beneficialUnderstanding of 3GPP systems: Core and RAN networks, architecture, and protocols is beneficialExperience in configuring virtual switches, network connections, Virtual port types (ie: SR-IOV, virtio), Security Groups, and VLANs is beneficialExperience in SW development with Java and web-based applications is beneficialMust have experience in working with Pre-Sales technical teams for the RFP responses.Good exposure to public (AWS, Azure) and private / on-prime cloud installation and configurationPhysical/Mental Demands:
Work is generally performed in an office environment. Operate a computer keyboard and view a video display terminal between more than 50% of work time, including prolonged periods of time. Requires considerable work utilizing high visual acuity/detail, numeric / character distinction and moderate hand/finger dexterity. Most of the time, the movement and transportation of equipment are under 25 pounds. Performs work under time schedules and stress, which are normally periodic or cyclical, including time-sensitive deadlines, intellectual challenges, and project management deadlines. Machines, tools, equipment, and work aids include PCs, printers, copiers, faxes, and other equipment commonly associated with an office work area. This may require working additional hours beyond the normal schedule. Travel varies depending on position. Consistently demonstrates a commitment to policies and procedures, including but not limited to attendance, confidentiality, conflict of interest, and ethical responsibilities.
