Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) in training

Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent Meet or exceed one of the following: 1-year Reactor Operator license at a PWR facility or 1.5 years at a BWR facility. 1.5 years or more (after qualification) in a position equivalent to Reactor Operator (or Supervisor) at military reactor (i.e., Power Plant Watch Engineer, Engineering Watch Supervisor, Reactor Operator, Engineering Officer of the Watch, Propulsion Plant Watch Supervisor).  BS degree in engineering, engineering technology or physical sciences, and more 1.5 years+ as a qualified non-licensed operator or a supervisor or manager in work control, operations, engineering, outage management, maintenance, radiation protection, chemistry, or accredited training at a PWR nuclear plant. Managerial, staff engineer, or supervisor experience at BWR plant may be credited on a 1.5:1.0 basis and 3 years required for a non-traditional degree. Successfully pass pre-employment testing (Plant Operator Selection System, Math/Science Test and FLS Leadership Assessment)
Job Summary while in training to obtain an NRC License:
The initial license trainee will combine classroom instruction, simulator training, and on-the-job experience to acquire the essential skills and knowledge to meet the qualifications for a Senior Reactor Operator License holder. Upon completion of the qualification, the candidate will be fully licensed by the NRC to supervise the operations of the reactor control room. Completion of Fundamentals Phase, completion of Simulator Certification, acquiring SRO status, attainment of NRC SRO License (80%) Study time, field time needed to attain licensed status (10%) Project work, outage assignments, or duties as assigned to support the site operations (10%)
Job Summary after training:
Provide direct oversight of Constellation’s Nuclear Power Generating Station operations, including directing Reactor Operators in controlling plant operations, Equipment Operators in field operations, procedure use, and tagging evolutions.
