Job Summary (includes but is not limited to the following, other duties may be assigned)
The primary focus of the position is the day-to-day management of regulatory compliance as it relates to Calpine’s retail business platform. The Senior Regulatory Compliance Analyst will be responsible for coordinating, reviewing and submitting Calpine Retail regulatory filings with federal and state agencies. In addition, the Senior Regulatory Compliance Analyst must be a subject matter expert on power, capacity and renewable energy commodity tracking and reporting issues at the state and federal level.
Job Responsibilities
Manage a process to meet state and federal reporting requirements, which includes collecting, preparing and analyzing information in a format acceptable to the appropriate regulatory body, and responding to all regulatory reporting requirements within the timeframe allowed for by code or law with complete and accurate information, Responsible for oversight and governance of obtaining and maintaining power and gas state retail marketing licenses for Calpine Retail with all appropriate regulatory agencies, Develop, coordinate and draft responses to certain regulatory data requests in a timely manner, Manage and analyze retail sales as it relates to state renewable energy and capacity requirements and support commercial personnel with analytics to meet those obligations, Manage the different RTO renewable energy tracking systems to ensure accurate and timely compliance and reporting, Responsible for understanding and incorporating new reporting requirements as it relates to state renewable energy standards, state resource adequacy, RTO operational upgrades (e.g., WREGIS, GATS) that impact renewable energy and resource adequacy reporting and tracking, Responsible for investigating and responding to regulatory violations, including customer complaints, Monitor changes in regulations and communicate changes to organization as necessary, Collaborate with Legal, Government and Regulatory Affairs, management and business stakeholders to identify and mitigate regulatory compliance risk, Work with federal, state and local regulatory agencies and personnel on specific issues affecting the business’s compliance activities, and Maintain documentation to support compliance with regulatory requirements and auditsJob Requirement
Bachelor’s degree in economics, business or a related analytical field of study. Minimum 5 years of experience in compliance or a related function. Must have strong written, verbal and analytical skills Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal, communication (written and oral) and organization skills Must be familiar with the use of spreadsheets, including pivot tables, and other common business software. Must be able to manage multiple projects and requests simultaneously Successful candidate must be familiar with retail electricity markets and terminology. Knowledge of restructured power markets throughout the United States is preferred.Salary Information - Position eligible for annual bonus.
Salary Range $70,696 to $104,276
