What you'll do:

The Senior Regulatory Control Analyst will be responsible for assisting in the execution of the Regulatory Reporting Oversight Program (“RRO”) to ensure compliance with the Bank’s regulatory reporting requirements (e.g., Call Report, FR Y-9C, etc.). In addition, this individual will assist in the development of the RRO program framework, policies, and procedures under the direction of the Financial Control Supervisor. This position will assess the data quality and integrity of regulatory filings through Regulatory Reporting Quality Assurance (“RRQA”) activities, including transaction testing, report conformance reviews (including report line compliance), and control testing. The Senior Regulatory Control Analyst will assist in performing root cause analysis of identified issues to strengthen and/or improve processes and internal controls over regulatory reporting. In addition, this individual will assist in the development of reporting materials summarizing results of testing, projects, and special assignments, as needed.

Performs work under the broad direction of the Financial Control Director reporting to the Financial Control Supervisor;Leads process walkthroughs with business owners to understand regulatory reporting processes, identify risks, and inventory key internal controls, regulatory reports/schedules, data source systems and documents, automated system jobs and interfaces;Documents end-to-end regulatory reporting production processes from the origination of data in source systems through report preparation and submission, to develop and maintain the comprehensive risk and control matrix and process flowcharts;Assists in the development and execution of the regulatory reporting quality assurance testing program, covering regulatory reports (owned by the accounting department), including but not limited to the Call Report and FR Y-9C;Performs RRQA activities, to assess and validate the accuracy of regulatory report line items, including the review of regulatory reporting logic, data element values and overall conformance to the reporting requirements using authoritative source documentation;Performs internal control testing to assess the overall regulatory reporting control environment, including tests of design and tests of operating effectiveness;Identifies, documents, and assists in the preparation of impact analysis for regulatory reporting and control deficiencies identified;Works closely with business unit partners to assist in the development of risk mitigation strategies and supports remediation efforts; as needed;Develop knowledge and expertise around regulatory reporting compliance, risk management, and evolving industry and regulatory changes to assess and mitigate regulatory reporting risks that could impact the Bank;Maintains system of record software (currently Workiva) to provide well-documented and organized testing work papers and deliverables;Coaches, trains, and develops staff to improve their knowledge of regulatory reporting risks and performs detailed review of staff analyst work to ensure compliance with stated requirements and objectives;Establishes and maintains relationships with process and control owners as well as external auditors and Bank regulators via periodic and effective communication, as needed.

What you need to have:

Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or another relevant field required. Accounting or Finance degree preferred;Minimum two years experience in Internal Controls, Internal Audit, and/or public accounting required. Experience in the financial services industries and/or regulatory reporting is a plus;Professional certification of Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Public Accounting (CPA) is a plus;Working knowledge of internal control analyses and risk assessment methodologies, including understanding of the COSO framework, Institute of Internal Auditor (IIA) standards, and Federal Reserve Board (FRB) reporting requirements is preferred;Strong audit skills, including the ability to draft control language and effective test plans to properly mitigate identified risks;Ability to deal with complex problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations including identification of problems, collection of data and facts, and draw valid conclusions;Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills required as well as the ability to work with all levels of management;Must be effective at communicating issues through written reports, verbal discussions, and presentations, as needed;Self-motivated and detail-oriented professional with experience and success working in a collaborative environment;Ability to multi-task, adapt to change, learn, and apply new concepts quickly;Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Advanced Excel skills for analyzing data are a plus;Ability to travel regionally up to 20%.
