About This Position

ChristianaCare is searching for a Senior Reimbursement Analyst who has front line responsibility of all third-party reimbursement functions associated with ChristianaCare. This includes all acute care hospital and other related entities. Governmental regulation and third-party contracts significantly impact the organization’s net revenue and must be understood and monitored for strategic planning, third party reporting, and various financial planning project purposes. In addition, this position will be responsible for providing consulting services to organizational leadership and staff, as well as representing the organization’s interests during third-party audits and inquires.

Principal duties and responsibilities:

Must maintain a working knowledge of all Medicare, governmental and other third-party regulations. This will be necessary to provide impact analyses and internal consulting.

Supports the contract modeling functions for the decision support system and monitoring the related expected payment calculations.

Supports the completion of the Medicare Cost Report and all related supporting documentation.

Supports the completion of all other governmental and commercial rate filings and data requests.

Supports the indirect cost rate filing in support of the Christiana Care research and grant programs.

Supports the completion and/or input on various surveys and questionnaires, such as COTH, AHA and community benefit report.

Supports the maintenance of the Intern and Resident Information System (IRIS) and all medical education documentation to support Medical Education reimbursement.

Capable of being the organization’s frontline representative during third-party audits and reimbursement inquiries and keeps Finance Leadership adequately informed.

Supports the reimbursement aspects and other general financial functions for all business planning and financial planning projects.

Understands the flow of information through the hospital patient billing system and the general ledger system to ensure accurate third-party accounts receivable and deductions to ensure no material audit adjustments are made.

Education and experience requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related area of study. M.S. / M.B.A. preferred.

At least three years of experience with acute hospital reimbursement, or equivalent.
