Position Summary: As a Senior Reinsurance Analyst, you will play a crucial role in our accounting team, handling complex reinsurance and accounting activities. You will be responsible for maintaining ledger accounts, preparing financial statements, and developing managerial reports. This position offers the opportunity to work on varied assignments and make a significant impact on our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare Loss Triangles for various lines of business.Respond to inquiries from reinsurers and brokers, coordinating responses from different departments.Compile and analyze financial information to prepare and post entries to general ledger accounts.Develop and prepare various reports, including facultative, treaty, and excess of loss coverages.Analyze and resolve stale dated reinsurance issues with missing data.Review settlements prepared by junior analysts for accuracy and completeness.Assist internal and external auditors with reinsurance matters.Proactively detect and resolve reconciliation items related to reinsurer balances.Update profit commission and sliding scale calculations for accrual and collection purposes.Support the commutation process by researching reinsurance transactions.Prepare financial reports such as balance sheets and income statements.Assist in banking activities, including letters of credit and collateral management.Create ad hoc reports using advanced Excel skills (pivot tables and macros).Conduct detailed reviews of “Schedule F” quarterly files.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.5+ years of relevant and progressive professional experience.Preferred: Associate in Reinsurance (ARe) designation or progress towards it.Solid understanding of reinsurance principles and accounting relationships.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word).Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong organizational and analytical skills.Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
