What you'll be doing
Reporting to the Market Vice President, Automotive Dealer Finance, Ontario, this role is critical for building CIBC’s expertise and market presence in the automotive dealership financing space in Ontario. This role poses as an incredible opportunity to individuals with an entrepreneurial mindset to deliver results while enhancing their specialized knowledge and expertise in a dynamic and evolving industry segment. The incumbent will have responsibility to grow and manage the automotive dealership client base for Commercial Banking in Ontario. The incumbent will develop a high profile for CIBC and effective internal and external network for successful automotive dealership business opportunity acquisition. As part of this role, the incumbent will remain current with emerging issues and short and medium-term business and economic trends and forecasts for the industry vertical and develop a 1-2 year sales plan to significantly expand the Bank’s market share, revenue base and share of wallet in the segment. The incumbent will develop and maintain a network Centers of Influence in the automotive dealership industry and represent CIBC at a variety of industry conferences and symposia as required.

How you’ll succeed
Relationship Building: Provide coverage to a portfolio of existing clients and develop new client relationships through business development activities, leveraging referral sources, existing clients and Centers of Influence. Actively monitor and manage these relationships by fully understanding our clients’ goals, purpose and the status of our clients’ business. Accountable for balance and revenue growth of the portfolio through organic growth from existing clients as well as by new business origination.Collaboration: Work collaboratively with external and internal stakeholders to facilitate business growth and build CIBC’s brand. Actively support the front line and Risk Management to close/retain individual opportunities/transactions. Assist in identifying new potential targets and industries, research, analysis, credit write-up etc. Identify and provide referrals to other appropriate banking partners including Retail, Wealth Management, Leverage Finance and others.Industry Expertise: Keep abreast of changes in market, including potential impact to clients and competitive intelligence. Act as the leading professional resource in the field of automotive dealership financing and banking needs. Ensure programs are ‘on-market’ (including pricing and credit structure) and competitive. Regularly communicate industry updates to help internal stakeholders understand market dynamics and drive prospecting activities including sessions with Risk Management personnel that adjudicate automotive dealership credit applications. May be required to develop and deliver industry-specific training and tools used to upskill teams in Commercial Banking and Risk Management.Portfolio Management: At the program/portfolio level, be responsible for credit portfolio management of the programs including early identification of any issues/trends in credit quality. The incumbent will cover a portfolio of clients located across the province of Ontario.Brand Building:. Act as ambassador within CIBC Commercial Banking for the automotive dealership finance space as well as externally through sustained business development and participate in trade shows and industry-related networking events to represent CIBC’s presence in the industry.Who you are
