ITD is hiring aSenior Research Analyst located at our Headquarters office in Boise, Idaho. This position will be working for the Division of Engineering Services in our Roadway Data section. The incumbent will work to maintain traffic data collection scheduling, official data collection location information, coordinate for all special requests by district personnel, participate in research projects, and other duties as assigned.
Note: This position travels up to 5% of the time. A driver's record check is required before a final job offer is made.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
+ Establish and maintain schedules for field personnel, including annual scheduling and special requests from district personnel.
+ Maintain location information in ESRI Roads and Highways and manage traffic monitoring data system documentation.
+ Assist in pooled fund studies, answer customer inquiries, and participate in research studies.
+ Query data from the traffic data system database.
+ Maintain permanent traffic count equipment, manage necessary equipment for permanent counters, and assist with field equipment specifications.
+ Read data collection reports to identify systemic issues.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Good Knowledge Of:
+ Research methods
+ Principles of statistics
+ Sampling theory and probability theory
Experience:
+ Writing analytical (research) reports or materials
+ Compiling and analyzing statistical data and drawing conclusions
+ Using statistical software or spreadsheet software to perform statistical analysis
+ Interpreting and communicating (orally and in writing) statistical material into information usable by a target audience
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
+ Experience in traffic monitoring and troubleshooting equipment, including permanent count equipment.
+ Proficient in using traffic data system software and ArcGIS Online/ArcGIS.
+ Familiarity with electronics equipment such as an ohmmeter.
+ Ability to lift up to 60 lbs., traverse uneven ground, and travel up to 50% (more during construction season).
