The Knight Cancer Precision Biofabrication Hub is recruiting a researcher scientist to support research focused on precision engineering complex cancer tissue models using a combination of 3D bioprinting, microfluidics, microfabrication and hydrogel synthesis/characterization-based techniques. In addition to being well versed with tissue engineering techniques, in vitro cell culture and animal models, strong preference will be given to applicants with backgrounds in vascular and/or neurobiology. Other technical expertise required will include confocal microscopy, quantitative PCR, western blotting, ELISA and immunohistochemistry. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Image analysis software, and familiarity with other scientific software is necessary. The applicant must be willing to learn new techniques involving biofabrication, 3D bioprinting, organs on-a-chip and microfluidics.

 

Function/Duties of Position

An ideal candidate will have a PhD in the described areas of interest, a strong record of publications, a proven record of independence, able to work effectively with the principal investigator and co-supervise graduate students, and independently solve problems. This position necessitates an ability to be highly organized, adaptable, and detail oriented. They will provide input in project design and planning and will be essential in the authorship processes for publication submissions. They will play pivotal role in data acquisition and analysis. They will also play an essential role in teaching and training and will present at conferences.
