We are currently looking for a
Senior Research Associate (40 hours a week)
As Senior Research Associate you are part of the CBNL In Vitro Operations team in Leiden, and your role is to support the technical operations of the Oncology team. You operate within a team of scientists that work on the production and development of organoid cultures and in vitro assays for commercial projects. Your main duty is to perform cell culture activities and preparations thereof and facilitate in the execution of customer- and internal projects. You will also contribute to general lab duties under direction and supervision of the Lab Manager.
Responsibilities
Passaging and expansion of (immune) cell or organoid cultures
Maintaining stocks of cryopreserved cell models
Executing experiments for commercial and internal projects under the direction of Study Directors
Performing laboratory tasks: cell culture, seed screening plates using liquid handlers, prepare compound dilutions and dispense to assay plates, fix culture plates, capture images using automated microscopes or other readout methods
Carry out tasks and quality control accurately by following standard operating procedures
Able to speak and record activities in lab books in English
Prepare and store samples and reagents
Help to keep equipment and labs in a clean and workable condition to maintain quality of our work
Contribute to other routine laboratory tasks that may be required

What you know
MLO, HBO or BSc degree (education and years of experience determine (S)RA level)
2-3 years of working experience is an advantage
Previous experience with 3D cell cultures is a plus
Experience with understanding and following SOPs
Good math and basic computing skills
Eligible to live and work in the Netherlands. (no sponsorship possible)
Good time management and organizational skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
Able to work in teams and independently
Working accurate, precise, and clean
Good record-keeping skills
Careful and meticulous with a strong work ethic
