This is a both research and engineering focused role which will be involved in shaping future aerospace technologies. If you have a research background or proven experience in any of the following technical areas, we would like to hear from you! + Wireless Systems Design + Modelling/Simulation, & Testing/Evaluation + Aerospace & Air Traffic Management (ATM) + Techno-economic Analysis Key Job Responsibilities Contribute to a growing research agenda for future aerospace systems within the Collins Aerospace Advanced Technology research community. Execute R&D activities within an international research community, including technology development within collaborative multi-national research programs. Provide competitive advantage for Collins Aerospace business units as part of a multidisciplinary and international team of experts. Contribute towards technical strategy and business development. Qualifications & Competencies + Motivated self-starter with a strong enthusiasm to learn and passion for speed and agility. + Well-organized with excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills, to work in international teams. + Willing to champion and challenge new technical ideas and adapt to new challenges beyond original field of expertise. + Able to partner with universities, government agencies, national labs, and professional organizations, to meet organizational objectives within time and budget constraints. + Preparation/Proposal, management, or execution of EU projects (SESAR, Horizon, Clean Aviation), as desired optional background. + Proficient problem-solving and communications skills, as well as an interest in working in a highly collaborative environment with scientists, analysts, and technical experts across several technical disciplines. + Desire to learn new techniques and approaches on-the-job, by leveraging structured educational content, as well as expertise from team members. + Leveraging ongoing advances in AI and ML is an important thread running through all of the research groups within Collins. Relevant experience and track record of applying AI in one or more of technical areas described above is desirable. + Hands-on experience in adapting research done in academia and industry to "real-world" challenging data sources and problems sets. Education & Experience We are looking for Technology Research, Design, and Development Engineers with proven skills in one or more of the technical areas described above (Wireless Systems Design, Modelling/Simulation & Testing/Evaluation, Aerospace & Air Traffic Management (ATM), and/or Techno-economic Analysis) to join our expanding team. You will be part of a strong team working on advanced technologies and profound projects. A degree in Computer Science, Electrical, or Computer Engineering. A minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years of related experience with a Master’s degree; or a PhD with relevant experience. The candidate must be prepared to immediately contribute at a Senior Research Engineer level. WE ARE REDEFINING AEROSPACE.
