Senior Research Support Associate, Lew Lab + Job Number: 24746 + Functional Area: Research - Scientific + Department: Biology + School Area: Science + Employment Type: Full-Time Temporary + Employment Category: Non-Exempt + Visa Sponsorship Available: No + Schedule: Email a Friend Save Save Apply Now Posting Description RESEARCH SUPPORT ASSOCIATE 2, Biology, to perform a variety of complex technical duties involved in maintaining and creating new yeast strains, conducting experiments, and support activities for Lew lab research operations; perform a variety of technical duties involved in conducting biological and other research: molecular biology techniques, lab management, and making media; confer with a principal investigator to review work assignments and develop plans for research experiments; make minor modifications to existing laboratory procedures and techniques to meet the needs of the particular equipment as required; review and use laboratory protocols, and use scientific journals, sequence databases, and other information applicable to research experiments; maintain lab apparatus and operate laboratory equipment required for specific tests; prepare culture media, chemicals, reagents, and solutions; maintain sufficient inventory of material, supplies and equipment for lab operations; clean and maintain laboratory equipment; and assist in training new personnel. Job Requirements REQUIRED: High School diploma or equivalent; exposure to lab research; and good interpersonal and communication skills.
