DescriptionUnder general supervision, performs routine chemical and/or metallurgical analytical tasks, including sample preparation and analyses, field sampling at operational or remediation sites, operate pilot process equipment, and be familiar with process equipment and use of tools.
Operate pilot process equipment at WTTF or project sites.Prepare samples for analysis and run tests using appropriate established techniques and methods.Collect samples from lab studies at Environmental Laboratory (ETL), Water Treatment Test Facility (WTTF), or at operational and/or remediation sites.Set up and maintain laboratory/field instrumentation and equipment; diagnose problems, calibrate and retest as appropriate; ensure lab has appropriate supplies for operation.Operates mobile equipment, including but not limited to: forklifts, loaders, skid steers.Provide input and recommendations to Project Managers and/or Supervisors regarding testing.Enter data into spreadsheets/databases and reports out results to sites.May be involved in project planning and execution of project(s).May compile, assign, track, ship and receive materials.Follows and understands MSHA and OSHA rules and regulations, Environmental rules and regulations, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work area instructions, participates in safety and environmental activities, uses plant and laboratory equipment correctly at all times.Perform facility and equipment maintenance, 5S housekeeping and other duties as required.QualificationsMinimum Requirements:
Five (5) years of direct technician experience or operational experience ORAssociates related degree, which includes four (4) years of related lab experience and/or operational experience.Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.Knowledge of lab equipment, lab protocols and techniques appropriate to assigned areas.Ability to train others with respect to equipment operation and maintenance and lab/tasks.Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions and to lead others with regard to proper safety application in all assignments.Ability to follow detailed, technical instructions.Experience operating test equipment or the ability to learn.Experience with chemical sample collection, preparation and/or analysis.Strong organizational and documentation skills.Ability and willingness to travel to project sites with occasional overnight stay.Experience working in an ISO 9001/EMS 14001/OHSAS 18001 environment.

The estimated pay range for this role is currently $30.00 - $41.00/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors.
