Role Description:

Arcadis is seeking a Resident Engineer - Utilities to join our team for a significant rail tunnel project in the New York / New Jersey area. In this role, you will serve as the primary on-site representative, ensuring that utility work is executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable regulations, standards, and project specifications. This role requires strong expertise in utility construction, stakeholder coordination, and a commitment to delivering high-quality infrastructure projects.

Role Accountabilities:

Coordinate relocations, new installations, and service adjustments.  Oversee utility related construction. Ensure that work adheres to design plans, specifications, and safety standards.  Conduct site inspections to verify that utility installations and relocations meet project requirements and industry standards. Approve work completed by contractors and recommend acceptance or necessary corrective action.  Monitor utility-related costs and ensure adherence to project budgets. 

Required Qualifications: 

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Minimum 10 years experience in utility engineering or construction management, preferably infrastructure projects in New York/New Jersey.  Professional Engineer (PE) license

Key Skills and Abilities: 

Strong knowledge of utility standards, codes, and regulations in New York/New Jersey. Proficiency in project management software and construction documentation tools. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with local utility companies and municipal agencies. Experience working on large-scale infrastructure or transportation projects Utility mapping experience is a plus.

Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
