Overview
Beacon Hill Financial is working with a prestigous local non-profit client on an experienced Senior Revenue Accountant to join their finance team. This role is critical in managing billing records, ensuring compliance with revenue recognition policies, and maintaining accuracy across financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have expertise in handling various contract types, including Time & Material (T&M), Firm Fixed Price (FFP), and Cost Plus (CP) projects, along with strong analytical and project management skills. The role will require being physically present at our client's Washington, DC office 5 days a week.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee billing and revenue recognition processes, ensuring compliance with financial regulations.Analyze and troubleshoot project-based contracts, including T&M, FFP, and CP invoices.Generate and review invoices, ensuring all billable costs are accurately reflected and processed within the billing cycle.Perform reconciliations of accounts receivable-related balances on a monthly basis.Monitor and manage unbilled revenue, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing.Review contract terms and billing setups for new agreements and contract modifications.Assist in audit processes, providing necessary documentation and identifying opportunities for process improvements.Document detailed billing workflows and standard operating procedures, ensuring clarity and consistency.Develop and implement automation strategies to enhance billing efficiency.Support financial reporting efforts, including preparation for the annual audit and IRS Form 990 submissions.Provide backup support for other revenue-related functions as needed.Deliver excellent customer service by responding to financial inquiries in a timely and professional manner.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years focusing on project-based revenue and contract billing.Strong knowledge of revenue recognition principles and project accounting.Experience processing and validating T&M, FFP, and CP invoices.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
