Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant - Revenue to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and contributing to the overall success of Ouro.
Key Responsibilities:
Monthly Close and Financial Reporting:
Completes the monthly financial statement close process for revenue and related accounts by performing and reviewing monthly account analyses and reconciliations, including validating deferred revenue, accounts receivable, and other contract related financial statement balances.
Contributes to the accounting function, including but not limited to general ledger activity for revenue, accounts receivable and related accounts.
Reviews and analyzes data utilized in creating monthly journal entries ensuring all revenue activities are recognized in accordance with GAAP.
Audit and Compliance:
Serves as an internal technical accounting expert for revenue accounting and works closely with the revenue and billing operations team to scale and improve system processes, controls and reporting outputs.
Assesses contract and new products and product updates and changes relative to the impact on revenue recognition.
Lead all revenue recognition matters by supporting external audits including quarterly reviews and year-end financial audit activities.
Process Improvement:
Document all month-end close procedures.
Help identify ongoing process improvements/creation of efficiencies in the current accounting processes.
Communication:
Work closely with the FP&A, the Product and Technology groups to ensure accurate revenue reporting and understanding of future contracts.
Leads, motivates and encourages direct reports to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
Perform ad-hoc management-related requests and analysis.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
5+ years of experience in accounting.
Proficient in ERP software and Microsoft Excel.
Strong understanding of US GAAP especially ASC 606.
