Job Description
We are seeking a Revenue Accounting Analyst to join a Renewable Energy Company. This role involves managing revenue functions for our renewable portfolio of assets. Responsibilities include analyzing information, interpreting contract terms, reconciling settlement data, completing monthly accounting close, and communicating with various stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have strong attributes for accuracy and be highly detail oriented.
Key Responsibilities:
Review Power Purchase Agreements to understand billing and accounting treatments.
Interpret and cross-reference contract terms and conditions to transaction details; identify errors or recommend changes.
Reconcile billing transactions with counterparties and independent system operators.
Review and reconcile various balance sheet accounts, including AR, unbilled revenue, collateral accounts, and derivative valuations.
Identify revenue and billing accruals, adjustments, or corrections for the general ledger; communicate impacts to internal teams.
Revenue and accounts receivable reporting.
Research and resolve billing discrepancies of higher complexity.
Follow-up with counterparties on outstanding receivables.
Analyze financial information and recognize significant variances, trends, and irregularities; summarize findings for management.
Perform complex queries in energy trading systems to support inquiries from internal stakeholders and external customers.
Confirm and settle power, emissions, and renewable energy credit transactions with commercial offtakers.
Coordinate with internal teams to create new FERC Filing documents and update/file quarterly FERC Reports.
Interact and support site operating personnel, corporate personnel, external auditors, vendors, and consultants.
Assist in the preparation for the annual budgets.
Prepare ad hoc requests for internal and external parties.

Skills and Requirements
Bachelors degree in accounting/finance or related discipline.
3+ years of revenue or related experience. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or working toward achieving CPA.
Fundamental accounting and finance concepts, practices, and procedures.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Experience using Microsoft products such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Power BI.
Proficient user of pivot tables and working knowledge of Microsoft Power Query.
Working knowledge of GAAP.
Working knowledge of PowerOptix, Aveva PI system, and various financial and accounting software (e.g., IFS, Onestream).
Working knowledge of FERC revenue filings.
Advanced visualization app experience or database management.
Experience with power settlements and invoicing with various ISOs (ERCOT, PJM, MISO, SPP, CAISO).
Experience with complex power purchase agreements, VPPAs, and CFDs. null
