Title: Senior Revenue Manager

Location: Lake Forest, California (Hybrid)

Position: Type: Full-Time

The Senior Revenue Manager will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and compliant revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606. This position involves documenting and applying revenue recognition conclusions, preparing technical revenue accounting memos under US GAAP, and supporting the month-end close process through review and reconciliation of revenue and deferred revenue accounts.

The role requires collaboration with various teams, including order management, customer success, sales, legal, and IT, to ensure all revenue transactions are accurately recorded per the company's revenue policy. The Senior Revenue Manager will also be responsible for performing period cut-off procedures, preparing schedules and analyses for external audits, and monitoring system outputs for anomalies.

Key Responsibilities:

Document and apply revenue recognition conclusions based on ASC 606. Ensure that recognition criteria have been met and adequate evidence has been retained.

Prepare technical revenue accounting memos in compliance with US GAAP for non-standard contracts.

Review Revenue/DR journal entries to support the month end close. Review monthly reconciliations of Rev/DR accounts’ sub-ledgers to the general ledger; ensure that all deferred revenue accounts roll forward.

Partner with order management team, customer success team, sales, legal and IT to ensure that all revenue transactions are accounted for in accordance with company’s revenue policy.

Perform period cut-off (month/quarter/year) procedures and prepare all schedules and analyses required to support the external audits.

Monitor system outputs for anomalies and coordinate with the SAP programmer to resolve any issues.

Prepare periodic SSP analysis to provide business insights and accurate revenue recognition.

Assist annual revenue forecasts and monthly updates.

Support ad hoc projects, including systems implementation, acquisitions, and process improvements related to revenue processes.

Monitor revenue recognition guidance, products and services, and operating environment; revise, document, and implement recognition policies, procedures, and controls as indicated.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree or higher education

A or equivalent preferred, with Big Four or National firm experience working with clients in the software industry

At least three years of revenue accounting experience in software industry; IFRS experience desirable

Strong technical and analytical skills; Strong understanding and demonstrated experience in revenue accounting processes under current revenue recognition for software and SAAS arrangements (“ASC 606”).

RevPro, Zuora and Oracle software experience strongly preferred; SAP and salesforce experience desirable

Ability to identify issues and develop/implement/document solutions and related policies, procedures and controls

Solid organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities and execute in a fast paced environment with attention to details

Ability to take ownership of assigned responsibilities and work under minimum guidance

Salary Range:

$141,100.00 - $235,300.00

This pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation that the position offers, and final compensation can vary within the range depending on work location, job experience, skills, and relevant educational attainment and/or training.
