POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary functions of this position are supervising the Rigging Team in the maintenance and installation of rigging systems to support the following venues and systems:

Studio City – Entertainment Centre Arena, Golden Reel, Flying Theatre, Water Park, etc.

The primary function of this position is to directly supervise the team of Riggers. The scope of responsibility covers Studio City areas mentioned above.

This department will be responsible for all safety of working at heights, the safety of the visitors during rescue and under all hung elements.

The Senior Rigger will be responsible to ensure all staff (both under his supervision and any that work at heights or operate work platforms in any of the above venues) adhere to the venue SOPs and Health and Safety requirements. Also that all equipment used is correctly certified and maintained. All rigging plans will be approved by the rigging manager.

The department will support other entertainment events programmed by the Entertainment Department. The department will closely collaborate with the Entertainment team, Project Team, and Customer Services Dept.

The department must continue to develop all Training, Rescue, Standard Operating Procedures and maintenance programs. They are directly responsible for the safe and efficient operation of rigging equipment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Working under the supervision of the Rigging Manager to implement the Rigging Department schedule.Lead the rigging crew in the setup, dismantle and troubleshooting of the rigging systems.Assist the Rigging Manager in the creation of a departmental SOP and preventative maintenance schedule for the areas of Studio City.Supervise external rigging crew.Help to train all staff in the department.Help to maintain a safe working environment.Help to develop rescue policies for all areas.Ensure that all procedures are followed.Ensure that all technical operation and procedures implemented in a safe manner, given the complexity and the risk related with the equipment under the responsibility of the department and adhere to Work at Height and other Health and safety protocols.Lead the installation of show/building rigging equipment.Follow show rigging plans and mark out the stage/arena.Perform any other tasks and projects as assigned by the Rigging Manager

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:

Assist to achieve a successful and smooth operation of the Venues and Attractions at Studio City.Assist to achieve a successful program of SOP and Preventative maintenance schedule for the areas under the department scope.Assist to achieve successful training program.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience

5 years of pertinent experience in either a large-scale theatrical or arena rigging position.

Education

IRATA Level or equivalentAny other relevant professional qualification

Skills / Competencies

Good Leadership and management skills.Ability to lead a team and work under pressure.A knowledge of AutoCAD, and other technical software application as well as MS office softwareAbility to read rigging plans.Problem solving.Willingness to work to a 24/7 rotation schedule.Promote teamwork and support within all department members.Fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
