Senior Risk Analyst

 

•        Regulatory Compliance:

o   Monitoring and developing compliance to the industry regulatory guidelines.  Assessing and meeting requirements of Provincial and Federal regulatory returns and reports, including OSFI, AMF, Stewardship, and other provincial authorities on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.  Ensuring reports are completed on time and accurately.

o   Supporting the Regulatory and Audit Risk programs with project management functions; conducting meetings, tracking actions, meeting minutes, and preparing submissions, project timelines.

o   Liaise with regulatory bodies and industry associations governing financial institutions.

•        Analysis and Quantification

o   Documenting the approach for the management of risk in the Insurance Company, clearly identifying the inherent risks of the business, along with providing clarity on the control structures and management responsibilities for the performance of controls in alignment with the GRM team

•        Third Party Support: 

o    Monitor and maintain the accounts for key centralized services.  Ensure compliance with company standards and procedures; meet employee and business unit requirements; process invoices, departmental charges and accruals.

o   Perform Third Party Risk assessments by evaluating Third Party questionnaire responses, performing control review/validation and reviewing assessment documentation per established procedures and standards.

o   Perform periodic quality assurance and review of Third-Party Risk assessments and internal process assessments performed by other team members to ensure that all assessments meet established standards and expectations.

•        Enterprise View

o   Supporting the - Risk Management team in educating the business on risk policies, processes and applications as needed and promoting a strong fiduciary risk management culture. 

o   Attending Risk Management Committee meetings, including overseeing the status of any remediation programs necessary to address control issues and providing regular reports to Management.

o   Reviewing new business opportunities and outsourcing Initiatives while creating an awareness of relevant risks.

o   Assisting with special projects within the Risk Management Team.

•        Participate and contribute to rollouts or other special projects.

•        Assist with onsite events, set-ups and reconfigurations, team resource support.

•        Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge of the traditional risk management framework and regulatory compliance Demonstrated experience in a Risk, Audit or Compliance role relating to an insurance business Experience in Third Party Management Up to 3 years of experience in a risk management Up to 3 years of experience in the A&H Insurance industry Excellent communication, project management and customer service skills Strong attention to details Effective team player
