The opportunity:
This role is responsible for supporting the Line 1 Risk Services team with day-to-day activities for the monitoring, assurance and reporting of Line 1 Risk within shared services at AIA NZ. They will support the Line 1 Risk team in embedding the end-to end risk framework across AIA NZ and help implement risk standards to support the achievement of AIA NZ’s strategic objectives.
This involves providing services that supports business units in effectively identifying, monitoring and managing risks that may impact on business strategic objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
Support monthly reporting to leadership teams, Operational Risk Committees, Divisional Risk Forums, and the CRO on risk and compliance related activities.Collect and compile data relating to risk and control profiles; issues and incidents; risk metrics and key risk indicators to assist with oversight, governance and reporting.Provide assurance over key controls, systems and models.Monitor key risk indicators.Work with subject matter experts and leaders to ensure:timely completion of all risk related work including updates to the risk management system and Line 2 risk where required;timely review of policy requirement;support the identification, assessment and resolution of issues and incidents; andUndertake activities required to develop a culture that promotes good customer outcomes and embed sound risk management practices.Perform Risk in Change assessments over key projects and change initiatives.Support continuous review of divisional risk profiles and business and process improvement initiatives.Proactively undertake research activities to provide insights, improvements and risk advise to senior management.Monitor compliance activities.Support business continuity planning.Promote a continuous improvement culture, educate stakeholders on wider understanding of processes and risks.Work effectively with divisional colleagues, central risk functions, internal and external audit and commit fully to meet deadlines.Contribute to drive productivity and efficiency improvements.Third party risk management support.Ideally, you’ll bring:
Proven experience in risk management, quality assurance or audit, in the financial services industry.Able to work independently.Able to challenge existing processes, document them and add value.Proficiency with Microsoft tools such as Word and Excel.Demonstrated data analysis and problem-solving skills.Experience and comfort dealing with complexity and conceptual thinking.Able to build and maintain effective relationships and influence diverse range of stakeholders.Qualifications
Relevant Tertiary qualification in a related business discipline preferred.
