About the role

We’re looking for two (2) Senior Risk Control Consultant to join our Property and Casualty team!

As a Senior Risk Control Consultant, your work will have important impact through consultation with clients, contractors, insurance brokers and engineers on hazard analysis and risk control matters.  You will provide methodical identification, evaluation and quantification of various risk factors (fire, explosion, natural hazard, equipment breakdown, premises and product liability, etc.) and the generation of risk improvement recommendations aimed to help our clients manage their exposure to losses and improve their risk management programs.
 

What you’ll do here:

Plan and carry out risk assessment visits to identify and evaluate existing or potential risks of loss.

Write quality risk assessment reports related to customer site visits carried out.

Issue recommendations based on company policies and technical expertise and follow up with insureds, underwriters and brokers.

Educate insureds on sound risk management practices by providing technical advice on risk management and loss prevention solutions.

Answer technical questions from insureds, underwriters and brokers.

Provide risk control presentations for underwriters, brokers and adjusters on topics relevant to risk mitigation, consistent with codes and standards and Intact Risk Control guidelines.

Meet or exceed Risk Control productivity targets and service quality standards.


What you bring to the table:

Degree in engineering, technical engineering, related sciences, or any combination of equivalent education and experience

University degree (TPI or TAPI), college diploma (DEC) or an Attestation of Collegial Studies (AEC) in fire prevention

Excellent knowledge of applicable fire protection and construction codes and standards (electrical code, NFPA)

Holding a CIP and/or CRM professional designation is an asset

Minimum 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in risk control

Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills

Client orientation with strong relationship building skills

Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills

Strong learning, coping and coaching skills

Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, agility and the ability to work under minimal supervision

Possession of a valid driver's license in good standing

Bilingual (French and English) is an asset. Need to interact on a regular basis with an French-speaking clientele and colleagues across the country
