Sobeys is full of exciting opportunities, and we are always looking for bright new talent to join our team! We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Risk Specialist to join our team.
Here’s where you’ll be focusing:Review, plan, develop and execute risk procedural framework in multiple Risk Management disciplines partnering with the RM leadership team. Liaise with individual team members to review current practices to identify areas that would benefit from custom solutions or best practices to streamline workflow while growing teammate knowledge Map processes for identifying and tracking risk analytics across all domains of the organization. In cooperation with leadership, review and reevaluate risk management strategy using data and research to enhance underwriting and claims to keep ahead of emerging industry trends. Develop and automate tools and workflows to improve efficiency in analytical reporting and data sharing. Collaborate and provide guidance with other departments on insurance and indemnity protective language for a wide variety of contracts ranging from complex IT projects to large scale construction and JV residential projects. Review leases and provide insurance/indemnity advice to Real Estate/Legal Lead a mix of internal and external project teams. Provide guidance & mentorship to junior members of the risk management team. Facilitate risk management meetings, workshops and discussion What you have to offer: Minimum of 10 years of experience in risk management or related field Professional certification such as CIP, FCIP, CRM Extensive knowledge of risk management principles, methodologies, and frameworks Strong leadership skills Excellent communication and presentation skills Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines Ability to coach performance & implement improvement techniques Availability for occasional travel for conferences, meetings, or training sessions Strong Insurance Industry connections & peer group
