We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Risk Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing, analyzing, and mitigating risks across various industrial operations and facilities. They will provide technical expertise to ensure compliance with safety standards, recommend risk improvement measures, and support underwriting decisions. This role requires a blend of technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and effective communication abilities.
Your new role:• Conduct on-site surveys to evaluate property, operational, and process risks.
• Identify potential hazards related to construction, occupancy, fire protection, machinery breakdown, and natural catastrophes.
• Analyze risk exposure and provide detailed risk grading or scoring.
• Develop practical and cost-effective risk improvement recommendations.
• Collaborate with clients to implement risk control measures or mitigation strategies.
• Evaluate fire protection systems, safety management practices, and emergency response plans.
• Assess process safety and identify inherent hazards in operations.
• Support underwriters by preparing detailed risk reports and technical summaries.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g., NFPA, FM Global, ISO) and local regulatory requirements.
• Keep abreast of changes in safety codes, standards, and industry best practices.
• Provide technical training and guidance to underwriters, clients, and other stakeholders.
• Act as a technical resource for risk management and loss prevention.
About You:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related field) or equivalent.
• Certifications in risk management, fire safety, or loss prevention (e.g., CFPS, ARM, or equivalent) are a plus.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in risk engineering, insurance surveys, or industrial safety.
• Experience in conducting risk assessments across various industries, including manufacturing, energy, or property.
• Strong understanding of fire protection systems, industrial processes, and safety standards.
• Proficient in using risk analysis tools and software.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance and relevant standards (e.g., NFPA, FM Global).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports and client presentations.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and manage multiple priorities.
• Willingness to travel for on-site risk assessments.
Additional Preferred Expertise:
Candidates with a background in Chemical Engineering are preferred.
Familiarity or experience in the following areas will be an added advantage:
• Building resilience
• Lithium-ion battery technologies
• Renewable energy
• Natural catastrophe modelling (optional)
While prior experience in insurance is not mandatory, it will be considered a plus.
