The Sr Rust Developer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining high-performance, safe, and reliable systems using the Rust programming language.This role focuses on developing mission-critical applications where performance, safety, and concurrency are essential. The position combines systems programming expertise with modern cloud-native development practices.Primary Job Functions
Design and develop high-performance systems and applications in Rust, and help maintain existing systems.Write safe, concurrent code utilizing Rust's ownership model and threading capabilitiesImplement low-level system components and servicesCreate and maintain RESTful APIs and microservicesDevelop cloud-native applications and servicesOptimize code for maximum speed and scalabilityWrite comprehensive unit tests and integration testsImplement async/await patterns for concurrent programmingContribute to architecture decisions and technical designDebug complex system-level issuesDocument code, APIs, and technical specificationsMentor team members in Rust development practicesDevelop and maintain architecture documentation while actively participating in the implementationCreate and execute disaster recovery and business continuity solutionsImplement monitoring and observability solutions across the technology stackActively participate in code reviews and development activitiesDesign, implement, and utilize centralized identity and access management solutionsDemonstrate the Company's Core and Growth Values in the performance of all job functionsJob Qualifications
Education:Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience
Experience:
3+ years of software development experience2+ years of experience with Rust programmingStrong understanding of systems programming conceptsExperience with concurrent and parallel programmingProficiency in version control systems (Git)Knowledge of algorithmic complexity and optimizationExperience with testing frameworks and methodologiesDemonstrated expertise in cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, Kubernetes clouds)Practical experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)Strong coding abilities in multiple languages (Python, Java, .NET)Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation)Deep understanding and implementation experience with security frameworks and compliance standards.Practical database administration and design experienceExperience with enterprise integration patterns and their implementationApply today and find your home at Ashley!
