About the Role
We’re looking for a collaborative Trust & Safety professional to advise Match Group’s product and engineering teams as they develop new features and services. This role will focus on platforms run by Match Group’s brands Hyperconnect and Eureka, which operate the popular apps Azar and Pairs, respectively. Responsibilities of this role include partnering with stakeholders across product, engineering, content moderation, legal, privacy, data science, and more; and will focus on analyzing new features and writing thoughtful risk assessments to secure safe and trustworthy outcomes which center our users.
You won’t be coding, but you’ll need to be able to communicate effectively with product teams and engineers and have a high-level understanding of technical concepts. You’ll help teams understand regulatory requirements, and advocate for features that advance user safety without compromising product usability. You’ll also use an analytical approach to spot areas where any of Match Group’s brands are excelling on safety, and champion adoption of those practices at other brands.
This is a cross-functional role that requires clarity in writing, rigor in reasoning, and pragmatism in navigating ambiguity. You should be energized by tough product trade-offs, grounded in the realities of enforcement at scale, and thoughtful about how to design for safety in a way that is proportionate, user-respecting, and aligned with industry best practices.
What You’ll DoReview product briefs for new features or services and compose risk assessments in order to advise product teams on safety risksAct as a thought partner to product and engineering teams to develop win-win safety solutionsInfluence peer teams, without authority, in order to secure positive outcomes for our users’ safety and trust“Red team” (engage in adversarial testing of) new products to identify safety gaps and areas for improvementPresent to peer teams or externally on an as-needed basisServe as a cross-functional facilitator among product, legal, privacy, security, content moderation, data science, and more to align on safety system designAnalyze safety features across Match Group’s brands in order to improve the approach across the portfolioMaintain a product launch calendar and documentation knowledge hub for products and features within your area of responsibilityMonitor evolving safety trends and industry best practices
What We’re Looking For5+ years of experience in Trust & Safety, product policy, or regulatory compliance, ideally with product-facing exposureBilingual Korean/English. Any knowledge of Japanese, a plusDeep understanding of online harm types and interventions, especially user controlsTechnical fluency—you’re comfortable understanding technical concepts at a high level and translating those for non-technical teamsHigh level of empathy for others’ roles - be able to put yourself in the shoes of a user, of a product manager trying to launch a product on time, and of a content moderatorPositive attitude, willing to pitch in wherever necessaryExcellent writing and reasoning skills; you produce clear, structured thinking in docs, even on complex topicsComfort with ambiguity and challenging trade-offsFamiliarity with major global safety regulations affecting Trust & Safety
