Senior Safety Lead - Environment & Planning

Description

ICF is seeking a Senior Safety Lead to establish and reinforce a safety culture within our division by developing and implementing Division-wide policies and procedures for safety, providing subject matter expertise on a variety of safety topics; and regularly engaging with staff on safety reminders and concerns. The Senior Safety Lead will interpret safety and health regulations, client requirements, and company safety programs and policies; advise Division and Line of Business Leaders by providing direction on the development of procedures and implementation of programs; oversee process and procedure development, implementation, and communication; and partner with lines of business and regional safety leaders to implement safety programs.

The ideal candidate will have experience implementing health and safety programs across a diverse team of professionals working outdoors in field settings.

Location Preference: While this position allows for remote work, candidates already based in Texas (Austin) or California (Sacramento, Irvine, San Diego) are preferred due to the significant presence of our E&P teams in these states/cities.

Job Responsibilities:

Ensures Division compliance with local, state, and federal health and safety regulations and industry standards.Provides oversight of Division safety policies and programs.Understands work types within the Division, conducts risk assessments, and recommends appropriate safety protocols.Reviews and develops Job Hazards Analyses (JHAs), project specific safety plans, and advises project teams as new hazards are identified.Reviews safety sections in proposals.Where clients require a qualified safety lead, fulfill project roles in support of client contracts.Leads Division health and safety training programs for project staff.Communicates appropriately regarding safety program to a variety of audiences and promotes and reinforces a strong safety culture within the Division.Informs and supports reviews and maintenance of safety programs in third-party systems, such as ISNetworld and Avetta.Some travel may be required to conduct risk assessments and site inspections to identify hazards and implement corrective measures.Plans to anticipate safety risks, program gaps, and provides solutions before they impact the business.Understands and reviews incident and near miss data, identifies lessons learns, and reports findings to division leadership.Serves as subject matter expert.Organizes safety materials and resources.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, safety engineering, safety management or related discipline5+ years of relevant safety experience2+ years of which must be experience in developing and implementing comprehensive health and safety management programs2+ years of which must be experience implementing health and safety programs to support staff working outdoors

Professional Skills

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with ability to engage diverse teams and make decisions under pressure

Preferred Skills

Experience implementing safety programs for UtilitiesExperience in operations, construction, or maintenanceCertified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or similar

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:

$81,094.00 - $137,860.00
