The ideal candidate is someone who loves numbers, is highly motivated, deals well with ambiguity and is a self-starter. This person should work well independently and in a team. The applicant should be comfortable interfacing with the executive management team and with presenting complex analytics in a clear and concise way. This individual reports to the Vice President of Marketing.
How Will You Contribute?
Assisting the senior sales and marketing team in optimizing its' promotional and tactical strategies, ongoing brand development and evaluation of business opportunities is a key component of this role. This position will essentially be responsible for collecting and analyzing sales and marketing data to provide insights and recommendations to increase sales productivity and make informed suggestions on how to improve programming performance and return on investment (ROI).
Main Focus:
+ Provide recommendations to manage costs and increase productivity of programming and other areas.
+ Present insightful analysis of KPI metrics to sales and marketing teams whilst providing detailed explanation of metric methodology, rationale and financial impact using dashboarding, BI tools and other resources.
+ Conduct all performance variance investigations, cost-benefit analysis, and margin and trend examinations on sales and marketing programs with an emphasis on driving increased distribution and volume.
+ Build sophisticated analytical models to track tactical spends by supplier, brand, premise, channel and sales team.
+ Deliver comprehensive financial analysis on the ROI of incentive programs as well as the long-term effectiveness of each program’s distribution and volume returns vs. cost.
+ Scrutinize historical data to identify trends and provide recommendations for improvement of under-performing areas to drive productivity and net revenue.
+ Design, develop and maintain reporting methodologies and dashboards for analyzing KPI metrics on our activity based selling programs and on P.O.S. budgetary spending.
+ Leverage strong business acumen to engage in weekly communication with senior leadership (SLT) and report on performance of KPI tracking (ie: layer picking & deliver window), as well as provide regular updates to sales and marketing team.
+ Efficiently track and benchmark all brand development programs.
+ Serve as analytical lead during the yearly budgeting and planning process for both Marketing’s tactical budget and Sale’s Operating Expense and Volume to Margin forecasting.
+ Provide enhanced and real time ABS and incentive analysis, insights, and recapping– maintain accuracy of performance updates and payout forecasting utilizing PowerBI for MBD dashboarding.
+ Supervise interns and Junior Sales Analyst.
+ Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
+ Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Economics or Business Administration. Master’s degree in business or data science desired.
+ 8+ years of experience in an analytical or quantitative role working directly for senior leadership.
+ Ability to build complex analytical models from scratch a must. Must have experience with large datasets.
+ Experience managing a team and demonstrated ability to teach/develop skillsets a must.
+ Knowledgeable in applications of data science and statistics as it relates to descriptive, predictive and prescriptive analytics.
+ Knowledge of the industry or market preferred.
+ Excellent oral, written and presentation skills.
+ Exceptional PowerPoint and Excel skills (e.g. vlookups, hlookups, macros, pivot tables, etc.).
+ Self-motivated, highly detail oriented and possesses strong analytical problem solving skills.
+ Capacity for continuous improvement, see the big picture and “think outside the box”.
+ Possesses a superior work ethic, strong organizational skills and thrives in a fast-paced and demanding working environment with multiple tasks and competing deadlines.
+ Comfortable building relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization.
Salary Range: $105,000.00-$115,000.00
It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
