The Opportunity:
Avantor is looking for a Senior Sales and Operations Planner to collaborate across the organization to actively manage the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) and Sales and Operations Execution (S&OE) processes to ensure a balance between customer service (i.e., OTIF/Backorder), manufacturing effectiveness, inventory investment, and shelf-life expiration avoidance.
This is a full-time virtual/remote position with travel up to 10% (as needed).

Implement best practices in S&OP/E and run all routines such as coordinate and facilitate weekly/monthly meetings, document ongoing assumptions, decisions made, decisions required and action items throughout each cycle.Track performance metrics and ensures S&OP strategy is translated into tactical plans and execution in short term horizon.Understand and communicate variances of inventory projection, as well as track and report production, supply, and fulfillment related issues and planning metrics as part of the S&OP process.Responsible for planning / procurement master data governance.Work closely with finished goods planning and material planning teams to ensure proper medium- to long-term coverage.Work closely with Operations, Production, Quality, Product Management, and Demand Planning teams to address constraints, or opportunities. Address collaboratively and escalate as appropriate.Work with site planning and operations to change medium-term capacity plans to accommodate medium- to long-term changes in customer demand that differ from the IOP.Identify Supply Response imbalances and coordinate appropriate response.Be familiar with the standard demand/supply planning system features like best-fit/what-if analysis, class/characteristic identification.Partner with Center of Excellence to establish best practices in master data management in SAP.Perform other duties as assigned.What we’re looking for:
Education:Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Management or related field. MBA or related Master’s Degree desired.Experience:Previous experience in Sales & Operations Planning – minimum 3 years.Previous experience in Sales & Operations Execution – minimum 2 years.Knowledge of forecasting processes in sales, marketing operations, finance and manufacturing.SAP experience preferred; ERP experience required.Proficiency in using advanced Supply Chain Planning tools such as SAP; Data analysis tools such as Excel, Power BI.Certification(s) and/or Trainings:APICS certification is a plus.Problem solving techniques training, i.e., Lean, Six Sigma.Additional Qualifications: Ability to understand and complete projects and tasks as assigned; follow process & procedures.Perform duties with the highest regard for safety and quality.Ability to multi-task and follow directions accurately.Demonstrated leadership and facilitation skills.High interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to make quick decisions and work independently.Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Collaborative and team-oriented attitude.Ability to work within high-performing teams.Builds excellent relationships with key internal and external customers based on trust and confidence.Ability to teach/educate/coach/mentor stakeholders toward desired business outcomes.Evaluate scenarios with end-to-end supply chain impact in mind.Ability to refine and train algorithms to aid in analysis and scenario planning.The ability to translate business goals and metrics into business process outcomes and related business cases for specific projects.Knowledge of finance, sales, marketing and R&D functions.Focus on both short-term results and long-term goals.Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.Proven ability to manage multiple projects at once.
