If you’re a seasoned sales leader, we have an exciting opportunity for you. This Senior Sales Manager role is a sales leadership position reporting to the Sales Director, Military Services. The selected candidate will be accountable for driving services sales growth, managing customer relationships, and supporting contract negotiations with operators and maintenance providers of military aircraft, vehicles and engines. Additionally, this position will be accountable for customer demand forecasting for the transactions with their assigned customers.
What You Will Be Doing
Lead the Sales Managers that form one of the Military Services Sales teams.Military Services Sales team is responsible for selling spare parts, repair and overhaul services for highly-engineered energy and motion control components and systems to operators and maintenance providers of military aircraft, vehicles and engines.Accountable for achieving Woodward’s sales growth objectives for the assigned customers.Responsible for staffing and performance management of direct reports.Accountable for the disciplined use of strategic account management and selling processes.Ensures sales strategies for new and existing services are aligned with business objectives. Develop and nurture top-level strategic relationships with customers. Accountable for forecasting customer demand for the assigned customers.What We Are Looking For
US – Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) or Engineering required.Additional formal training in specialized areas such as aviation maintenance, negotiations and strategic selling preferred.5+ years’ experience in progressive sales experience required, preferably in an aircraft engine or aircraft industry segment.Experience negotiating US Government FAR contracts required, and experience negotiating US Government TINA contracts is desired.Extensive Woodward product knowledge and demonstrated ability to effectively influence customers, preferred.Relevant experience working with a technical/engineered product serving complex accounts and channels required. Sales leadership with large-scale sales experience (i.e. $50M +) preferred.Track record of results working for a multinational company (companies) with a diverse, global customer base required.Strong commercial skills including: selling process, pricing, costing, discount structures, terms and conditions, sales strategy development/execution, negotiating and sales proposal development.Extensive knowledge and understanding of aerospace and defense industries required.Excellent interpersonal, relationship management and oral/written communication skills.Travel & Location
Ideal location would be based at one of our aerospace facilities in IL, CA, CO or MI.Hybrid arrangements are possible with pre-agreed plans to spend 60% of time at internal facilities or visiting customers and 40% of time remote.This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
