Role/Department:Responsible for leading and expanding Northern Trust's “One NT” initiative across Northern Trust’s UK asset owner business lines. The role involves strategic leadership, collaboration with multiple departments, and direct involvement in sales and client relationship management. Initially focused on the UK with the opportunity to expand to other markets.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
Additionally, work closely with Relationship Managers to identify and leverage cross-sell and upsell opportunities within the existing client book. Providing direction and support in business development, negotiation and deal closureMaintain and develop strong, lasting client relationships, understanding client needs to deliver tailored investment and asset servicing solutions Foster collaboration across research, product, consultant relations, sales and marketing teams to align sales strategies with market opportunities and product offeringsAnalyze regional market trends to stay ahead of industry changes and position Northern Trust strategically Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies Report directly to senior management on sales progress, market dynamics, and strategic opportunities
Skills/Qualifications:Proven track record of successful direct sales leadership in the financial services industryDemonstrated ability to coach and mentor others (sales managers and RMs) to meet/exceed targets.Strong capability to work collaboratively with internal teams such as product development, marketing, and client relationship managementExcellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with key stakeholdersDeep understanding of the UK and EMEA financial markets and regulatory environmentsDegree or relevant professional certifications preferred.
The successful candidate will benefit from having:
Good examples of closing profitable mandates with annualized income.
Experience gained in a senior sales position within a leading Asset Servicing provider or Consulting organization
An excellent network of established contacts in UK asset owner/pensions sector
Experience engaging at CXO level
Knowledge of the UK and European regulatory environment and issues facing the traditional asset owners
An understanding of the investment industry across both buy-side and sell-side
Degree in Business, Finance, or related field; Master’s degree or relevant professional certifications are preferred.
