POSITION SUMMARY: Clean Products Scheduling is part of Global Clean Products Value Chain, a cross-functional organization integral to maximizing refining output value for MPC while meeting marketing demands. Clean Products Scheduling actively participates in all US domestic markets along with an increasing presence internationally. The scheduling position is responsible for optimally scheduling gasoline and distillate product into and out of terminals in Europe. Modes of distribution used to execute the scheduling plan include barge, pipeline, rail, and truck. The candidate will have direct interaction with a wide array of organizations within MPC and conduct business with pipelines, terminals, trading companies and other external partners. The applicant should be organized, self-motivated, team oriented, and possess an entrepreneurial mindset. This position should be viewed as a growth opportunity for a highly motivated individual that has a strong aptitude and a keen interest for a commercial career. This role will provide an opportunity for the successful candidate to gain an understanding of the clean products supply and trading while performing a complex and critical function on a growing team. KEY RESPONSIBILITES: + Nominates light product pipeline and waterborne movements to support trading’s forecast and bulk sales/purchase activity + Works alongside US and Singapore marine vessel schedulers to optimize freight, reduce cost, and provide market intelligence + Assists in new business development opportunities. + Monitors terminal inventories as well as shipping schedules daily to ensure that supply meets Trading’s forecast + Prepares daily status reports to communicate supply concerns to Pricing, Trading, Marketing, Trucking, etc. + Ability to work independently to execute scheduling strategies that optimize changes in supply due to operating constraints, unplanned events, and changes in market fundamentals. Work with internal and external partners to accommodate such changes. + Identifies opportunities for optimization and process improvements. + Bachelor’s degree required in business, finance, marketing, economics, accounting, or related field of study + Minimum of 4 or more years of experience in European scheduling, operations or commercial facing roles involving gasoline, middle distillate, or naphtha + In depth understanding of marine logistics (terminal, barge, and vessel) related to Northwest Europe, more specifically Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and Antwerp + Exposure to trading, profit/loss calculations and commercial negotiations preferred As an energy industry leader, our career opportunities fuel personal and professional growth.
