The Translational Medicine (TM) - China team provides translational medicine and biomarker development expertise to support the clinical development of innovative therapeutics in different disease areas including Oncology, Immunology, Neurology, Cardiovascular & Metabolism, and Ophthalmology etc. Our biomarker strategies are designed to study the molecular pathways driving the disease and to establish the mechanism of action of our therapeutics. We focus on diagnostic, prognostic, predictive and pharmacodynamic biomarkers to enable our vision of “the right drug for the right patient at the right dose.”

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join the TM China team to support biomarker and CDx development in Oncology – Breast Cancer/Gynecology (BC/GYN) therapeutic programs. The incumbent will lead or contribute to translational science projects in China for programs in late and early stages of clinical development, before and after approval.

The successful candidate is expected to effectively work cross-functional teams in China and globally. Effectively communicating to and developing collaborative relationships with key investigators and thought leaders in China.

Scope of position

The individual will be responsible for establishing China biomarker/diagnostic strategy and its execution for clinical development programs in BC/GYN disease area. She/he will also be responsible for biomarker exploratory research and translational research projects carried out for these diseases.

As a Scientific Manager in TM China team you are expected to:

Support China and global clinical development programs in BC/GYN disease areas (both early and late-stage clinical trials), including setting up program specific China biomarker strategy, testing plan, and executing themProvide knowledge of biomarker science and disease biology to clinical development project team, and provide support in writing of development documents (protocol, ICF, etc.) as neededLead and execute biomarker studies and collaborations as well as data analysis and interpretation for BC/GYN therapeutic projects in ChinaManaging external vendors as well as institutional collaborators to ensure generation of high-quality dataContribute to publications of data generated in context of the China Biomarker Activities in high quality scientific, technical or medical journals and represent TM China externally through presentations at key internal and external meetings and conferences

Requirements

PhD or MD degree in a relevant scientific field (e.g. molecular or cell biology, oncology, immunology etc.)Minimum of 3 years post-doctoral experience in Biology/Translational Medicine/Medical research either in an academic and/or industry settingExperience in biomarker research or clinical biomarker development is preferred  Expertise in translational medicine in Oncology is desiredExperience and knowledge in state of art biomarker technologies including immunoassays, NGS, IHC, FACS, PCR, etc.Experience and expertise in data analysis and interpretation of biomarker data is a plusExperience in clinical drug development is preferred, including experience in drafting relevant documents (protocol, ICF etc.), and understanding of critical development functions, e.g. Clinical Science, Regulatory, Safety, Operations, Biostatistics, etc.Familiar with regulatory policies in ChinaSignificant experience and ability to enable execution on programsExcellent skills of presentation and communication in English and Chinese
