Senior Scientist, Autonomous Mobility & Delivery
**About the Role** At Uber, our mission is to reimagine the way the world moves for the better. The Autonomous Mobility & Delivery team is at the forefront of this transformation, focusing on the user experience and marketplace dynamics of autonomous vehicles. We are currently running multiple pilots to integrate autonomous vehicles to power our mobility and delivery services, spearheading a groundbreaking product area that impacts partners, riders, eaters, drivers and the entire marketplace. Join us to build future-looking transportation and delivery with revolutionary technology. **What You Will Do** - Modeling and Optimization: Build algorithms and models to understand the impact of autonomous vehicles (AV) to marketplace, explore different strategies in matching, pricing and incentives to grow the market and optimize AV utilization and efficiency. - Simulation: Developing advanced simulation tech to understand the AV impact to marketplace and user experience. - Data Insights and pipeline: Experienced in design data schema and pipeline; Deep understanding of marketplace dynamics to measure marketplace efficiency and reliability. Generate data-driven insights to prioritize initiatives and influence the product roadmap. - Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance user experiences specifically for AV users. \-\-\-\- Basic Qualifications ---- - Ph.D., M.S. or Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Machine Learning, or other quantitative fields. - Minimum of 2 year of industry experience as a Data Scientist, Applied Scientist, or equivalent. - Experience in optimization modeling in pricing / marketplace matching context - Deep understanding of marketplace dynamics - Ability to use Python and SQL efficiently for analysis and modeling. \-\-\-\- Preferred Qualifications ---- - Research or industry experience in building marketplace with self driving technology. - Broad understanding of ML, Economics, Optimization. - Structured thinking, with the ability to solve ambiguous problems independently. - Experience in leading key technical projects and substantially influencing the scope and output of others. - Entrepreneurial experience in building products from 0 to 1. - Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$174,000 per year - USD$193,500 per year. You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
