Your key responsibilities

The job holder shall have 3-8 years hands-on experiences of process optimization as a chemical engineer in process R&D of fine chemicals in an industrial R&D context. Maintain specialist knowledge in process optimization and chemical engineering (area of expertise). Integrate, apply and develop it in order to solve problems in projects and assignments:Process design and evaluationCost model calculationSimulation so as to get process condition/parameters, material balance and heat balancePerform experiments / trials Support on conceptional designBuild up the overall knowledge on the processes for production sites in China including downstream, business trip or short-term period working at plant is required.Regularly attend the plant technical discussion to obtain the insight of plant status and improvement possibilities.Transfer the lab results to production site in safe and efficiency way.Execute the agreed research programs / experiments, evaluate it and report the results. Plan and organize execution of research activities in the field of responsibility.Stay abreast of new developments in the area of expertise and advise on applicability in business group processes.Build up efficient communication with production site in China and M&T teams in headquarter, establish and maintain an internal and external network in the area of expertise.Provide guidance and coaching to operators, technicians, associated scientists.

You bring

PhD with >3 years or master with > 8 years working experience in chemical engineering, reaction engineering and process technology (or equivalent qualification).Good communication and interpersonal skills.The holder must be fluent in Mandarin and English. Knowledge of German would be an advantage.Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience of modern synthetic methodologies and techniques would be an advantage.Application of modern analytical instruments is required.Experience of study or work abroad would be an advantage.Required level of experiencesThe job holder shall have 3-8 years hands-on experiences of process optimisation as a chemical engineer in process R&D of fine chemicals in an industrial R&D context. The job holder shall have overall technical understanding of production processes and process unit operations, like rectification, corrosion and membrane technology. The job holder shall provide chemical engineering input at early stage of process development and deliver a cost effective/scalable process. The job holder shall provide process expertise input at late stage aligned with design engineer for basic design.The job holder shall have proven experience in supporting technology scale-up and related piloting, proficiency in process design software, such as Aspen Plus and ProII, capability to conduct rectification/distillation simulation for development of process package design.The job holder must have the ability to study and apply new chemical engineering technologies.
