The Oncology Thematic Research Center at BMS is a key research and early development engine, responsible for the discovery and development of novel oncology therapeutics for patients. Centered at our state-of-the-art research sites in Cambridge and Seattle, scientists focus on novel targets and pathways for tumors that are refractory to current therapies. With a deep understanding of the causal human biology, we are able to leverage our multiple modality platforms to best match the modality to the mechanism and desired outcome. We are a fully integrated drug discovery through translational and early clinical development organization which exploits state-of-the-art in vitro, in vivo and ex-vivo models of Cancer biology and Immuno-oncology to identify and validate targets. We partner closely with colleagues in Translational Medicine, Informatics and Predictive Sciences and Early Clinical Development to generate biomarker and patient enrichment hypotheses to enable efficient decision making in early clinical trials. We are optimally positioned to complement the world-class translational expertise, biology and leading academic research centers in the area.

**Position Summary:**
We are seeking a talented individual with oncology translational and/or discovery research experience to join the Translational Research team within the Oncology Thematic Research Center at Bristol Myers Squibb in Cambridge, MA. The qualified candidate is a highly motivated, engaged, and creative scientist that can thrive in a highly matrixed organization to advance programs from candidate optimization through IND enabling activities and ultimately to Proof of Concept clinical trials. This individual will focus on exploring patient stratification hypothesis, identifying rational drug combinations, exploring mechanisms of action and mechanisms of resistance, and developing pharmacodynamic and target engagement assays.
**Position Responsibilities:**
In the role as a Senior Scientist within Oncology Translational Research, the ideal candidate will:
+ Develop biomarker, pharmacodynamic and target engagement assays.
+ Use current and new techniques to address drug mechanism of action and sensitivity/resistance studies.
+ Leverage familiarity with antibody drug conjugate (ADC) or/and knowledge in DNA damage repair signaling pathways to obtain decision driving data and contribute to building of the translational strategy and plan for clinical implementation.
+ Interact with project teams and contract laboratories for the design and oversight of molecular, cellular and/or in vivo studies.
+ May be responsible for co-authoring non-clinical pharmacology study reports and scientific publications.
+ Expected to understand departmental goals and development processes.
+ Execute experiments independently, troubleshoot as needed, interpret and discuss data.
+ Display excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
**Experience =**
**Basic Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's Degree
+ 7+ years of academic and / or industry experience
OR
+ Master's Degree
+ 5+ years of academic and / or industry experience
Or
+ Ph.D. or equivalent advanced degree in the Life Sciences
+ 2+ of academic and / or industry experience
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Ph.D. with postdoctoral experience and/or 1-3 years of industry experience. Strong knowledge of Antibody-Drug Conjugate (ADC) platforms and/or DNA damage repair signaling pathways is highly preferred. Experience performing laboratory work, including handling cell cultures, and performing analysis of protein and DNA/RNA samples using a variety of methodologies including but not limited to: flow cytometry, MSD/ELISA, Luminex, RNAi, CRISPR, qPCR and primary culture and functional assays.
+ Ability to conduct experimental work independently, with accurate, detailed record-keeping.
+ Ability to efficiently manage and prioritize multiple projects, coordinating in-house research with collaborative work.
+ Ability to summarize and interpret scientific data in a clear, concise, and accurate manner.
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate well with peers and supervisors.
+ Strong problem-solving skills and understanding of relevant scientific principles.
+ Ability to be flexible in case of changing priorities.
