Here at Saint Gobain Interior Solutions, we’re offering a Senior Scientist role at our site in East Leake, Loughborough. This is based onsite 5 days a week Mon-Friday, 36.25 hours per week.

This role sits within our Acoustic and Structures team in the Building Test Centre. Primarily be responsible for testing within acoustics and structure labs as well as looking at ways and methods on how to optimise testing methods. Some elements of the role will be going out to market, speaking with customers understanding & researching various other testing methods and being involved in implementation of those figuring out what needs to be done and how.

What will I be doing?

Being involved in the testing of acoustics and structures labs Responsible for going out to market speaking with customers externally and researching different types of other testing methods.  Understanding the technical aspects of testing for the construction industry. Keeping the customer at the heart of all activities through defining the customer requirements and the root causes of problems. Plans and conducts UKAS accredited testing following the strict requirements laid out in EN ISO 17025. To drive the continuous improvement of our methods and testing whilst delivering high quality analysis in a professional manner. To adhere to all policies and procedures and ensure that you respect these with regard to, though not limited to, health and safety, the elimination of waste and care for the environment, equality of opportunity and the prevention of fraud.

 

What we’re looking for?

Minimum of 3 years Continued Professional Development in specialist domain (Testing and UKAS). Experience of construction testing i.e. fire, acoustics, structures, glass plastering etc Education, or experience in a science or engineering field.(Mechanical engineering) Competent to conduct a wide range of complex testing services in a professional manner and to a high standard. Ability to identify and drive through to completion Customer / Service improvement activities. Awareness, respect and a proactive approach to workplace environment, health and safety.
