Senior Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Scientist III to join our innovative Research & Development team. The Scientist III/Senior Scientist will play a pivotal role in designing, executing, and interpreting complex experiments to drive our projects forward. This individual will contribute to both fundamental research and the development of applications within their scientific expertise, helping to advance our mission of excellence and innovation. The Scientist III/Senior Scientist will collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor junior scientists, bringing a strategic mindset and technical expertise to their work.

Functional Duties of the Scientist III/Senior Scientist opening:

·       Independently design, conduct, and analyze experiments to advance project goals, ensuring high standards of scientific rigor and data integrity.

·       Develop innovative approaches to overcome technical challenges and optimize processes, maintaining alignment with project timelines and milestones.

·       Lead or participate in cross-functional projects, collaborating closely with teams in engineering, quality assurance, and product development.

·       Act as a technical expert within the team, sharing knowledge and providing guidance on experimental approaches and methodologies.

·       Interpret and present data clearly to internal stakeholders, preparing detailed technical reports, presentations, and documentation.

·       Stay current with scientific literature and emerging technologies, applying new insights to enhance project outcomes and improve methodologies.

·       Mentor junior scientists and technicians, fostering a collaborative and productive lab environment.

·       Provide training and support for team members in best practices, troubleshooting, and advanced techniques within the field.

 

Education and Experience Required

Ph.D. in a relevant scientific field (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related field) with 3+ years of relevant industry experience, or M.S. with 6+ years of industry experience. Extensive hands-on experience with [specific techniques, e.g., molecular biology techniques, chromatography, spectroscopy, etc.] and a deep understanding of [relevant scientific concepts or specialized knowledge area]. Strong track record of scientific publications, patents, or contributions to technical advancements in the field. Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., R, Python, SAS) and experience in designing statistically sound experiments. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex data to both technical and non-technical audiences. Must have the ability to quality for the cPRP program, as well as obtain and maintain a clearance. Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

Desired Experience

Experience in a regulatory or quality-controlled environment (e.g., GLP, GMP). Familiarity with project management principles and the ability to work cross-functionally in a team-oriented setting. Demonstrated success in leading or mentoring teams and fostering a collaborative work environment.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
