Position Summary:
Milacron is looking for a Senior Screw Design Engineer to join our team in Batavia, OH. As a Screw Design Engineer, you will be responsible for developing screw geometries that will achieve proper design performance for extrusion, blow molding, and injection molding processes. You will support the sales team with technical expertise during the quotation process and after sales support, manage and direct the creation of engineering prints, and support operations during the manufacturing of screws and barrels.
Work You’ll Do:
Creation of screw geometries for extrusion, blow molding, and injection processes
Support the sales teams and customers in specifying the correct screw geometry to achieve the mutually agreed upon screw performance
Specify appropriate materials of construction to match the process and polymers being processed
Creation and/or management of screw and barrel manufacturing engineering prints and documentation
Support the extrusion business sales teams in the selection of the correct equipment for specific applications
Investigate order problems and provide support to sales teams and customers
Provide input on sales quotations for customers
Provide technical support and direction for existing product and new screw design technology
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, or other related field
5+ years of experience in screw design, plastic or polymer process engineering, or other related experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Hands-on experience operating and/or designing plastic processing machinery
