As a Senior Scrum Master you will be responsible for managing the Scrum process of one or more teams while supporting the development and execution of processes related to best practices of Agile methodology.

The Scrum Master will utilize communication, interpersonal, technical, and organizational skills to remove obstacles, enhance collaboration, and ensure teams are able to deliver results.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Works closely with Product Owner and Engineering Managers to understand priorities, working to understand Team’s capacity and constraints.Facilitate and organize daily stand-up meetings, retrospectives, sprint and release planning, demos, and other activities as neededPrevent or remove impediments and distractions that interfere with the ability of the development team to deliver on their goalsWork with Business Analyst/Technical Lead/Architect to groom and prioritize backlog for upcoming releases and iterations.Aid delivery engineering team by determining suitable commitments for user stories, defects, and taskingFacilitate discussion and conflict resolutionCoordinate and manage releases across organizational teams.Maintain process documentationEnsures the tracking and reporting of daily activitiesTrack and communicate team velocity and sprint/release progressCommunicate team progress in sprint/release progress to managementParticipate proactively in developing and maintaining team standards, tools, and best practicesAssist as needed with backlog maintenanceMakes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components. Work is performed with little or no direction.Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

 Job Qualifications:

BS or equivalent combination of education and work experiencePreferred First level Scrum Master Certification (CSM, PSM I)4+ years of experience in the software industry as a Scrum Master.Knowledgeable about various Agile methodologies and experienced in coaching Scrum and Kanban teams Experience configuring and optimizing usage of agile backlog managementExperience working in a Scaled Agile framework(SAFe) or product organization with Scrum of Scrums ceremony or equivalent, is strongly preferred.Knowledge and experience of working with team following the Lean Product development methodologies like Program Increment (PI) planning process, would be highly preferred.Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparencyKnowledge of numerous well documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (eg: numerous Burn down techniques, numerous Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc.)Knowledge and/or experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games.Applicable knowledge of the technologies used by the team.Effective verbal, written, and presentation skills.Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiencesExperience with JIRA and other Atlassian products.
