Cleveland-Cliffs Steel has an immediate opportunity for a Senior Section Manager of Maintenance at our Warren, OH, Coke Plant. The Senior Section Manager will direct all reliability and maintenance activities to ensure that operational needs are realized for the entire operation. Summary of Responsibilities:
Manage supervisors in Electrical Maintenance, Mechanical Maintenance, and hourly employees.Coordinates major maintenance and project requirements with production and engineering, including major downtime activities and downtime periods.Assist in developing and adhering to the Maintenance Budgets.Manage and evaluate the Maintenance staff including but not limited to performance management, employee improvement employee development plans, etc.Coordinate and effectively manage the day-to-day maintenance activities, including employees, contractors, equipment, and inventories. Evaluate and ensure that the resources provided are efficiently utilized.Maintain appropriate documentation and accurate statuses on activities and processes.Provides direction to the operation and maintenance of the Utilities (Air, Steam, Water, Power, Nitrogen,) and Wastewater facilities.Ensure parts availability to minimize equipment downtime while balancing economic maintenance inventory management.Responsible for the performance, training, and development of all departmental personnel.Sets and evaluates departmental goals and objectives through a collaborative effort with maintenance departmental supervision.Model and lead activities to ensure your safety and that of others; ensure safe work practices and work environments. Demonstrate a personal commitment to creating a safety culture.Maintain equipment to ensure proper function and reliability.Assist in developing continuous improvement plans.Develop short-term maintenance plans.Ensure that employees are trained properly.Participate in reviewing, revising, and implementing work practices to ensure safety and efficiency. Initiate corrective actions for any unsafe or environmentally unsound conditions.Report and provide timely notification of incidents per regulations and policies; confirm receipt of urgent information to appropriate managers and others. Follow up and investigate safety incidents (including near misses and injuries) and ensure corrective actions are developed and implemented to prevent future occurrences.Establish and maintain positive working relationships with employees, peers, and managers. Show judgment and the ability to identify the appropriate interactions and communications to share with others.Ensure safety and environmental guidelines are met and coached to all maintenance employees.Duties as assigned by the Plant Manager to support plant-related areas.Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience requiredCokemaking or Chemical Plant work experienceMust have strong mechanical/electrical aptitude Strong leadership, negotiation, interpersonal, and communication skillsMust have good computer skillsCleveland-Cliffs is the largest flat-rolled steel company and the largest iron ore pellet producer in North America.
